Full time teachers on a general contract (RGSS) can expect an average of 25 hours teaching per week with classes either in our centre in Madrid or on our client’s premises. In addition, teachers are expected to prepare classes, complete course reports and attend meetings and teacher development seminars. Full-time contracts may be for a determinate period or indefinite.
Part-time teachers on a general contract (RGSS) are contracted to work on a specific project and are paid by the hour. This is popular option for teachers who are not available to work during the whole day although many part-time teachers move on to full-time positions.
Freelance teachers (RETA) must provide proof that they are registered as self-employed with both the Spanish tax authorities and with the Spanish social security office.
What we expect
As a school, we are committed to helping our students achieve their objectives and we expect the same commitment from teachers. In practical terms, this means planning lessons, taking an interest in students and keeping the Director of Studies informed as to how students are getting on. To ensure that courses are properly managed, we also ask teachers to complete reports via the school’s online Course Management System (ICAS).
